Navratra (Worship of goddess Durga ):-

Navratra (Worship of Goddess Durga):-                     
             || Navratra ||
This festival celebrates for Nine days.
Devotees worship Nine days Goddess Mother Durga.
They worship different incarnation of Goddess Mother Durga in these days.

               || First day||
First day is the day of worship of Goddess Shailaputri.

        || Goddess Shailaputri ||
Pray Mantra :-                                                       Vande Vanchhitalabhay chandrardhakritshekharam |                         Vrisharudham Shooldharam Shailputreem Yashasvineem ||

Goddess Shailaputri  is the daughter of Himalaya & Maina.                                       Himalaya was the king of mountain.
His eldest daughter name is Goddess Ganga Ganga is a holy river of india.
She is called "Shaila-bala" or "Shaia-putri'.   Her other name is Goddess Pravati.
Her vehicle is Bull.                                               She holds a Trident in one of her hands.
There is half-moon on her crown.                    She is benefitial for whatever one wishes.
                   
                 || Second day ||
Second day is the day of worship of Goddess Brahmacharini.

         || Goddess Brahmacharini ||

Pray Mantra :-                                                     Dadhana karpadmabhayaamaqshmala kamadalu |                                                    Devi prasidatu mayi brahmchaarinyanutama  ||                                              
Brahmacharini Means, "A Female Who Practises Austerity".                                 Goddess Brahmacharini wears white colour clothes.
She holds rudraksha mala (Rosary),lotus flower,kamandalu,in her hands.             Goddess brahmcharini is the "Ascetic" form of Goddess Durga.
Who gives freedom from Kaama,krodha (Anger).
As the divine energy and the power of Yoga. Goddess Brahmacharini Present in her own the "Swadhisthan Chakra".

                  || Third day ||
Third day is the day of worship of Goddess Chandraghanta.

 || Goddess Chandraghanta ||

Pray Mantra :-                                                       Pindajpravararoodha chandko paastrakairyuta |                                                 Prasaadam tanute mahyam chandraghanteti vishruta ||

She exmplifies calm .                                           Her ornaments are rich and signify material comfort.
Her vehicle is lion.
She rids of our life of obstructions and evil energy.                                                               She derives her name from her most prominent ornaments.
A half moon shaped like a bell that smite all evil beings such as demons and instill fear in their hearts.  
As the divine energy and the power of Yoga. Goddess Chandraghanta Present in her own the "Manipur Chakra".
Symbolized by a lotus with ten petals,this chakra is also known as navel chakra (Nabhi chakra).
This navel chakra called  "Manipur Chakra" This "Manipur chakra" embodies the change or conversion from simplicity to cmplexity.

Fourth day is the day of worship of Goddess Kushmanda.

Pray Mantra :-                                                       Sura-sampurn-kalasham Rudhira-plutmeva Ch |                                                              Dadhana Hast-padhmabhyaam, Kushmanda Shubh-daastu me ||

Goddess Kushmanda  is always portrayed as radiating with an immense inner light. The radiance of a hundred thousand suns is contained in her.
Her brilliance is incomparable.                         She resides deep within the heart of the sun where no other god or goddess can withstand the brilliance.
She alone illuminates the ten directions and all the worlds.      
As the divine energy and the power of Yoga. Goddess Kushmanda Present in her own the "Anahat Chakra".                                        
 (Anahat Chakra - symbolised by a lotus with twelve petals.)
Also known as "Heart chakra" emphasis the qualities of the heart - love and compassion but most of all equilibrium.

                   || Fifth day ||
Fifth is the day of worship of Goddess Skandamata.

           || Goddess Skandamata ||
Pray Mantra :-                                                       Singashangata Nityam PadmashritKardwaya  |                                     Shubh-daastu Sada Devi Skand-Mata Yashashwini ||

She is mother of "Skanda"(God Kartikey or God Murugan).                                               Her another name is Goddess parvati.
She is also known as Goddess Pasmasana .   Her vehicle is Lion.
She holds the infant & Skanda in her arms.   Goddess Skandamata  is revered for having produced such a remarkable son and worshiped as the mother figure par excellence.
She does not wield a weapon.                           She holds instead two lotus in her two upper hands.
As the divine energy and the power of Yoga. Goddess Skandamata Present in her own the "Vishuddha Chakra".
Symbolized by a lotus with Sixteen petals.     This "Chakra" is also known as the throat Chakra that symbolizes creativity and communications.

                     || Sixth day ||
Sixth day is the day of worship of Goddess Katyayini.

             || Goddess Katyayini ||
Pray Mantra :-                                                       Chand-rhaasujj-walkara Shaardulvar-wahana |                                                   Katyayani dadhyadevi Daanavghaatini ||
Goddess Katyayani was the daughter of the saint Katyan.
Saint Katyan was desireous that Goddess mother to be born in his house as a daughter.
Goddess mother was born in Katayan's house so she adopted her fathers name" Katyayani".
The world meanwhile was reeling under tyrannies of demon King Mahishasur.        Therfore Goddess mother appealed by the trinity( trienty :-Group of three Lord Brahma,Vishnu & Mahesha).
She was born on fourth day of Navratra.
Goddess Katyayani accepted the ritual worship of Saint Katayan for three days.   And on the tenth day Goddess Durga slew the demon Mahishasura.
Goddess Katyayani  is depicted as a four armed.                                                                 Her vehicle is  lion.                                             She holds a sword in lower left hand,and a lotus in upper left hand.
Remaining two hands (both upper & lower) are composed in mudras of blessing.         And the mudras of fearless, the blessing extended to all of katyayani's devotees.
As the divine energy and the power of Yoga.  Goddess Katyayani Present in her own the "Ajna" or "Agya Chakra".               Symbolized by a lotus with two petals,this chakra is also known as third eye chakra.

              || Seventh day ||
Seventh day is the day of worship of Goddess Kalaratri.

Pray Mantra :-                                                     Jaya-Twam Devi Chamunde Jaya Bhootartihaarini |                                               Jaya Sarwagate-Devi Kaal-Raatri Namostute ||

Goddess Kalaratri is the unparalleled  granter of boons and harbinger of success.    She is also known as "Shubhankari"(auspicious) .                                                       She mounts on donkey.
The terrible and terrifying energy of Goddess Durga is manifested on the seventh day in the form of Goddess Kaalratri.
Her right two hands(both upper & lower) with Khadag (scimitar) apart from brandishing the scythe as a weapon.
Her other left two hands(both upper&lower) are composed in mudras of blessing and Fearlessness.
She is also the most powerful force of protection.                                                  Goddess Kalartri protects all her devotees from all kinds of harm physical and metaphysical.
As the divine energy and the power of Yoga. Goddess Kalaratri Present in her own the "Sahastrasar Chakra".

                      || Eighth day ||
Eighth  day is the day of worship of Goddess Mahagauri .

Pray Mantra :-                                                       Shwete Vrashe Samarudhah Shwetambar-dhara Shuchi |                                     Mahagauri Shubham Dadhyanmahdev-pramodada ||  
 
The eighth incarnation of Goddess Durga is Goddess Mahagauri.                                         Her vehicle is cow.                                                  
"Gauri" word means a fair complexioned .      She is fair skinned.
The fairness of her being is constantly compared to the conch,moon and kund flowers.
All her adornments, clothes and jewelery are always white.                                             She is always envisaged and worshiped as an eight years old girl.

Why She is called "Gauri" ?.

                      || Story ||                                         Once a time,Goddess Pravati  became angry to Lord Shiva.                                                   She went out of kailasha Mountain.
Due to Intense and prolonged of austerity the body of Goddess Pravati was shrivelled and blackened.
After a long time,Lord Shiva searchs her and reached there.
Lord Shiva consented to take Goddess Pravati as his consort.                                         And bathed her body with the waters of the celestial river Ganga.
And immediately her body became dazzling white and returned to the fresh vitality of an eight years old girl.
There fore she is called "Gauri".                     Goddess Mahagauri holds in two of her hands the Trident and "Damroo"(small drum).
Symbols most closely associated with Lord Shiva.
                   || Nineth day ||
Nineth day is the day of worship of Goddess Siddhidatri.

            || Goddess Siddhiratri ||
Pray Mantra :-                                                       Siddh Gandarv-Yaksha-dyair-Surai-ramrairapi |                                             Sevyamaana sada bhuyaat siddhida siddhi-daayini ||

Goddess Siddhidatri is the repository of all the Siddhi's (Supernatural power or divine force ).                                                                     Goddess  is possessor and dispenser of all Siddhi's.
Goddess Siddhidatri has Four hands.             She holds in her hands the Chakra, mace ,a conch and a lotus flower.
She sits on a lotus.                                               Goddess Siddhidatri is the summation of all incarnation of Goddess Mother Durga.       And by merging and mingling with the energy of Lord Shiva.    
By grace of Goddess Siddhidatri,lord Shiva is converted his self,in the form of "Ardhnarireswar" (God Shiva& Pravati in a form) .                        
 She brings the world and all its energy into perfect balance.
As the divine energy and the power of Yoga. Goddess Siddhidatri Present in her own the "Nirvana Chakra".
The devotee who devote Goddess Mother with full devotion and reverence.           They must get bless of Goddess Mother and her grace.                                                                 They will get success,happiness & peace.
